Frequently Asked Questions

Will you be my primary care doctor?

I’ve chosen to specialize in digestive health & highly sensitive healthcare, and I do not act as a primary care doctor. Specializing allows me to go in depth in those areas and a PCP should be available to help you with a broad range of concerns, whether they treat you directly or refer you to a specialist. While I do have experience with and treat people for other concerns outside of digestion & sensitivity, my experience is not as broad as a PCP. You’re always welcome to ask me if I can help with any new concerns outside of the main reasons we’re working together, and I will let you know if that’s something I can help with or would be better addressed with your PCP.

Do you bill health insurance?

I am not in-network with health insurance companies. I do this because I want to help you get to the root cause of your concerns to reach deep, lifelong healing, which I’ve found to be best addressed in longer visits than insurance sustainably reimburses for. This means that payment is due at the time of the visit. If you have out-of-network benefits, we can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. You can check with your insurance if this is included in your plan and how much they reimburse. I offer a variety of options for working together, which we can discuss in detail at a free introductory consult. You can schedule that here.

Can I work with you if I live out of state?

Yes, in different ways. I am licensed as a naturopathic physician in the state of Washington only. If you’d like to travel to my clinic in Bellingham, then yes, absolutely! If you’d like to work together remotely through video conferencing, I cannot legally provide medical advice, but schedule a free 30 minute phone consult so we can discuss how I may still be able to help you reach your health goals!
