I was born and raised in the Midwest where I developed a love of the natural world exploring the flora and fauna of Wisconsin with my father. From an early age I discovered a passion for biology and chemistry which led to a pre-medical undergraduate degree. I was discouraged by my observations of the practice of medicine in the conventional sense and delayed my medical degree by serving in the Army for 8 years as a MEDEVAC pilot.
While stationed in Alaska I discovered naturopathy and realized that this was the medicine I had been looking for my entire life. Genuine pursuit of wellness. After separating from the military my family moved to Washington so I could attend Bastyr University. Here I learned that the word doctor originates from the Latin, docere, or “teacher”, and a medical philosophy which educates and empowers patients to own their health and wellness.
Following graduation, I completed a residency in Vermont providing primary care and chronic pain management services. My passion for physical medicine was well served and I was able to utilize the invaluable skills of tissue manipulation, craniosacral therapy, and visceral manipulation in treating all forms of discomfort. I developed a deep appreciation for my patients and their willingness to share their challenges and suffering with me. I believe the human body is an amazing organism that evolved to heal itself and given the proper support can overcome almost any obstacle.
If you are interested in a deeper understanding of your body and the source of your discomfort I look forward to meeting with you. It is time to establish your unique path to wellness that is Grounded in Health.
